Lovely original ships light with a bronze body and brass cage. Because they are painted on ships this difference would have been unknown and unseen but now dipped and cleaned they have a unique look that is very striking. These lights have all the signs of wear and a life at sea. There are the odd bits of paint on them but they are generally clean. They are heavy and solid, real 50's quality and getting much harder to find. Many come with replacement glass, it's correct in size but it is new, the odd one has an older glass which is dulled. The internal fittings are however all original, they vary from a part ceramic type to the "oceanic 660" type which are still around today. They all take a standard E27 screw in bulb, some look a bit tired but I check them all to ensure there is a good bit of life left in them. These parts are not hard to replace should you wish to do so. These lights require wiring up correctly. They have good seals however they are not rated for wet area's or for outdoor use. Please note each light is very unique, the condition, marks and patina can vary as can the glass. I do my best to match them when customers buy more than 1 but however hard I try there are always at least subtle differences. They have all had a very unique life and as such each light tells it's own story.
